1. About Lithium-ion Batteries
A mobile Donation Point Tap (DPT) terminal is powered by a rechargeable, high capacity Lithium-Ion battery. The battery management system features a fuel gauge, so the user always has accurate information on battery status. You can charge the battery by plugging in the supplied USB-C cable.
Warning: Only use the power supply provided with your terminal. Using another power supply may cause damage, fire or electrical shock and void your warranty.
Connect the 5V power supply into a 240V power outlet and switch on. Plug the small (USB-C) end into the terminal (socket located under rubber flap on the rear). Plug the large (USB-A) end of the cable into the power supply. The status light on the terminal will change depending on the amount of charge in the battery.
Note: If the terminal is OFF before plugging in the cable, it will turn ON. If the terminal is plugged in and you switch the terminal OFF, the terminal will actually restart automatically due to the presence of charge. This is normal. Activating the terminal sleep function is ok, as is allowing the terminal to enter its sleep mode automatically.
Maximizing battery performance
To get the best out of your Lithium-ion battery ensure regular charging and avoid depleting your terminal’s battery to 0%. This includes regularly charging your terminal even if it is not in use for an extended period of time.
All batteries are consumable items. Contact your help desk to arrange replacements.
Storing your Device
If you plan not to use your payment terminal for weeks at a time, it is important that the battery be fully charged BEFORE storing your terminal. Every 3 months of inactivity, the battery level should be checked and recharged.
